Please join us in congratulating Rebecca Amuso Wendell, who has been appointed Executive Director of Riverbrook! Becky has been with Riverbrook for 19 years, most recently serving as Clinical Program Director. The Board of Directors is pleased to be able to promote an individual whose depth of knowledge and history with the organization give her a unique foundation on which to build the Riverbrook’s future.
Longtime Executive Director Joan Burkhard will stay on through May 2018 as Co-Director in order to ensure a smooth transition. Joan was involved in Becky’s selection, and the two have worked closely with the board over the past year to develop a strategic plan. The Executive Director is responsible for the execution and implementation of Riverbrook’s policies as adopted by
Riverbrook’s Board of Directors, and works with the Board to develop operational objectives.
Becky has earned a BA in Human Services Management from the University of Massachusetts, a graduate certificate in Not-for-Profit Management from Clark University, and her RN degree from Berkshire Community College. Her goal, throughout her 19-year career at Riverbrook, has been to truly know each individual being served and to create opportunities for wellness using a multi-disciplinary approach.
There is no better way to show the respect that the Board of Directors has for the residents and personnel at Riverbrook than to appoint such a competent and deserving woman as Becky to take the helm as the next executive director.
Congratulation Becky !
